The armor you give him is completely up to your needs and wealth. Insight and Cure are both dirt cheap but mandatory for this Prayer Merc. On top of that the Cleansing aura that comes with the helmet makes short work of poison issues and removes curses in only a fraction of the time they normally last. In short with this merc on your side not only your mana problems are over (that is why you have him wielding an Insight stick) but the health regeneration works so fast you seldom have to use a health potion again. The Prayer mercenary will benefit from both Cleansing and Meditation, and the prayer benefit will be applied to both separately. So when you run Meditation or Cleansing, from an item or otherwise, your innate skill bonus in Prayer is applied. Prayer's benefit is applied to Cleansing and Meditation. But the Cleansing Aura that comes with the new Cure helmet you will be using also stacks. We already knew that giving the Insight runeword to your Act 2 Prayer Merc worked extremely well because Prayer and Meditation synergize. Thanks to the new runeword Cure, you can now create a merc that will basically remove the need to use mana potions, healing potions or any other potion. The runeword Insight grants a level 12-17 Meditation aura to its wielder, making it a popular hireling weapon choice for Mana-hungry builds.Emilio is my new hero for any caster build. It also comes helpful if Paladin himself relies on Mana-consuming attacks from the Combat Skills list. Meditation choice is popular with other party members such as Sorceress and Necromancer. Meditation stacks with all other sources of Mana regeneration, including items, Warmth, and Mana Recharge Shrines. Even Paladins who are not dedicated to supporting party members can use this intermittently to ease mana upkeep, but this is especially powerful in the hands of a healing paladin, due to the fact that it also gives the same effect as the Paladin's Prayer aura at no mana cost. Even at level 1, it gives 75% (the same effect as a Mana Recharge shrine), and can greatly extend the amount of time a caster can spend casting spells before needing to stop and use a mana potion. Meditation greatly increases Mana regeneration. It is in these times of silent worship that the Paladin is rejuvenated in spirit. With the observance of this aura, the Paladin supplicates himself to the Light with silent utterances of prayers.
